Rare earth market update on December 15, 2025
The overall performance of the domestic rare earth market was relatively weak. Amid the interplay of multiple factors, the price trends of mainstream light and heavy rare earth products showed slight divergence: praseodymium-neodymium prices moved sideways, while dysprosium and terbium prices experienced a modest decline. According to CTIA GROUP LTD, factors such as limited downstream inquiries, ample spot supply in the market, cautious expectations among industry participants regarding future market conditions, and insufficient positive support have collectively resulted in a lack of motivation for suppliers to raise prices, making it difficult to drive prices upward. Today, the prices of praseodymium oxide and praseodymium-neodymium metal are approximately RMB 597,000 per ton and RMB 710,000 per ton, respectively; the prices of terbium oxide and dysprosium oxide have decreased by approximately RMB 40,000 per ton and RMB 20,000 per ton, respectively.
