Rare earth market update on December 10, 2025
The domestic rare earth market overall remained relatively weak, with mainstream product prices declining to varying degrees under the influence of numerous uncertainties, among which praseodymium-neodymium oxide, terbium oxide, and dysprosium oxide prices decreased by approximately RMB 4,000/ton, RMB 60,000/ton, and RMB 30,000/ton respectively.
In the light rare earth market, the overall situation was one of "prices exist but no market", with suppliers generally holding a reluctant-to-sell and price-supporting mindset affected by limited increase in spot market supply and relatively strong production cost support, but due to insufficient consumption capacity among downstream users and cautious expectations among industry players for the future market, actual market transaction volume was low. In the medium and heavy rare earth market, trading activity in the market was low, with dysprosium-terbium series product prices continuing their weak downward and consolidating trend amid scarce downstream inquiries and limited bullish support.
According to the Baotou City Administration for Market Regulation, recently the international standard “Rare Earths — Determination of Moisture Content in Rare Earth Products — Gravimetric Method” (ISO 24548:2025), led by the Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earths, was officially released, marking another important breakthrough for Baotou City in the field of rare earth international standardization.
