Rare earth market update on November 20, 2025
The domestic rare earth market continues to operate on the strong side overall. Although downstream buyers remain relatively inactive in inquiries and procurement, supported by strong production costs and positive development momentum in downstream rare earth industries, suppliers have generally maintained firm quotations, with some experiencing modest upward adjustments. Today, prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide and erbium oxide rose by approximately RMB 5,000/ton and RMB 2,000/ton, respectively. It is understood that the main reasons for the difficulty in increasing market demand are the tight working capital of most downstream rare earth producers and the complex and volatile global economic situation.
On the news front, Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd. recently announced that its controlling subsidiary, Changting Jinlong Rare Earth Co., Ltd., plans to issue no more than 26.68 million ordinary shares to its existing shareholders, with expected proceeds of no more than RMB 40.02 million, to be used to supplement working capital. All shareholders of Jinlong Rare Earth will subscribe to the new shares in proportion to their current shareholdings. Xiamen Tungsten, related party Fujian Metallurgical Holding Fund, related party Chuanghexin Material, and related party Jiatai Green Energy plan to subscribe for amounts of approximately RMB 26.09304 million, RMB 2.2011 million, RMB 0.8004 million, and RMB 0.8004 million, respectively.
