According to data compiled by CTIA GROUP LTD from the General Administration of Customs, the import and export details of China's molybdenum products for the second quarter of 2025 are as follows: In the second quarter of 2025, China’s molybdenum product imports totaled 19,808.31 tons, a decrease of 6.97% quarter-on-quarter and an increase of 12.38% year-on-year; the import value was 726 million yuan, a decrease of 5.10% quarter-on-quarter and an increase of 22.24% year-on-year.
Among these, in the second quarter, China imported 3,932.37 tons of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, an increase of 226.07% year-on-year; 13,595.93 tons of other molybdenum ores and concentrates, an increase of 1.70% year-on-year; 581.88 tons of molybdenum oxides and hydroxides, an increase of 8.67% year-on-year; 601.01 tons of ammonium molybdate, an increase of 188.35% year-on-year; 247.31 tons of other molybdates, a decrease of 20.94% year-on-year; 750.20 tons of ferromolybdenum, a decrease of 60.72% year-on-year; 1,026.00 kilograms of molybdenum powder, an increase of 36.44% year-on-year; 12,996.00 kilograms of unwrought molybdenum, including simply sintered bars and rods, an increase of 649,700.00% year-on-year; 62.81 tons of molybdenum bars, rods, profiles, sheets, strips, foils, and special shapes, a decrease of 12.59% year-on-year; 15.90 tons of molybdenum wire, an increase of 99.30% year-on-year; and 6.88 tons of other molybdenum products, an increase of 57.54% year-on-year.
In the second quarter of 2025, China’s molybdenum product exports totaled 9,685.25 tons, an increase of 1.57% quarter-on-quarter and a decrease of 8.16% year-on-year; the export value was 2.036 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.65% quarter-on-quarter and a decrease of 14.08% year-on-year.
Among these, in the second quarter, China exported 3,601.82 tons of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, an increase of 0.73% year-on-year; 2,590.55 tons of other molybdenum ores and concentrates, an increase of 26.29% year-on-year; 585.49 tons of molybdenum oxides and hydroxides, an increase of 73.51% year-on-year; 110.71 tons of ammonium molybdate, a decrease of 18.13% year-on-year; 83.71 tons of other molybdates, an increase of 10.06% year-on-year; 1,488.90 tons of ferromolybdenum, a decrease of 39.29% year-on-year; 5.00 tons of molybdenum powder, a decrease of 93.44% year-on-year; 520.31 tons of unwrought molybdenum, including simply sintered bars and rods, a decrease of 28.58% year-on-year; 117.96 tons of molybdenum bars, rods, profiles, sheets, strips, foils, and special shapes, a decrease of 48.10% year-on-year; 91.02 tons of molybdenum wire, an increase of 24.51% year-on-year; 420.32 tons of molybdenum scrap and fragments, a decrease of 43.12% year-on-year; and 69.47 tons of other molybdenum products, a decrease of 4.95% year-on-year.
