Rare earth market update on July 15, 2025
The domestic rare earth market continues to perform favorably overall, with light and heavy rare earth product prices showing divergent trends under the interplay of bullish and bearish factors: praseodymium-neodymium (NdPr) product prices continue to rise, while dysprosium and terbium prices remain stable. Currently, industry participants hold high expectations for the market outlook.
In the light rare earth market, the sentiment is relatively optimistic. Driven by high inquiry and procurement activity from downstream buyers, tightening spot supply, and strong speculative sentiment among traders, the price increase for praseodymium-neodymium products has further expanded, with praseodymium-neodymium oxide and praseodymium-neodymium metal prices rising by approximately 19,000 yuan per ton and 26,000 yuan per ton, respectively. In the medium and heavy rare earth market, performance has been lackluster. Despite rising prices for mainstream light rare earths and limited import volumes of rare earth products in China, suppliers’ quotations generally remain firm. However, downstream demand remains insufficient, with further release still needed.
