Recently, according to the Baotou Industry and Information Technology Bureau, in April 2025, among the 36 industrial products closely monitored in Baotou, month-on-month, the prices of 23 products, including rare earth carbonate, pig iron, A00 aluminum, and PVC, decreased, the price of monocrystalline silicon remained unchanged, and the prices of 12 products, including high wire, hydrogen fluoride, and cerium metal, increased. Year-on-year, the prices of 26 products, including hot-rolled coil, A00 aluminum, and lanthanum metal, decreased, while the prices of 10 products, including fluorite, hydrogen fluoride, and neodymium oxide, increased.
Among these, for rare earth prices in Baotou in April 2025, among the eight closely monitored rare earth products, three saw month-on-month price increases, while five experienced declines. The largest month-on-month drop was for rare earth carbonate, with an average price of 34,400 yuan/ton, down 1,517 yuan/ton, a decline of 4.2%; however, it increased by 2,550 yuan/ton year-on-year, a rise of 8.0%. Year-on-year, seven products saw price increases, while one saw a decline, with the largest year-on-year increase being cerium oxide, averaging 12,650 yuan/ton, up 5,350 yuan/ton, a rise of 73.3%.
According to CTIA GROUP LTD, in April 2025, the prices of most rare earth products in China decreased month-on-month but increased year-on-year. The average price of praseodymium oxide was 450,318 yuan/ton, down 3.02% month-on-month, up 15.68% year-on-year; neodymium oxide was 444,364 yuan/ton, down 3.29% month-on-month, up 14.34% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium oxide was 425,909 yuan/ton, down 4.07% month-on-month, up 11.07% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium metal was 524,318 yuan/ton, down 3.90% month-on-month, up 9.91% year-on-year; terbium oxide was 6,895 yuan/kg, up 4.95% month-on-month, up 11.95% year-on-year; dysprosium oxide was 1,659,545 yuan/ton, down 2.49% month-on-month, down 16.12% year-on-year; and dysprosium-iron alloy was 1,624,091 yuan/ton, down 1.99% month-on-month, down 16.41% year-on-year.
In April 2025, among the non-ferrous metal products closely monitored in Baotou, prices showed one increase and two decreases month-on-month, with all declining year-on-year: A00 aluminum had an average price of 19,976 yuan/ton, down 755 yuan/ton month-on-month (a decline of 3.6%), and down 331 yuan/ton year-on-year (a decline of 1.6%); No.1 magnesium ingot had an average price of 18,025 yuan/ton, up 592 yuan/ton month-on-month (a rise of 3.4%), but down 1,900 yuan/ton year-on-year (a decline of 9.5%); No.1 copper had an average price of 76,933 yuan/ton, down 2,794 yuan/ton month-on-month (a decline of 3.5%), and down 1,133 yuan/ton year-on-year (a decline of 1.5%).
