The following is the import and export data of Chinese molybdenum products compiled by Chinatungsten Online based on information released by the General Administration of Customs of China:
For January-February 2025, China’s cumulative molybdenum product imports totaled 13,775.79 tons, a year-on-year increase of 38.95%. The cumulative import value was 1.936 billion yuan, up 46.83% year-on-year.
Among them, from January to February, China imported 887.88 tons of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, up 34.53% year-on-year; 10,718.00 tons of other molybdenum ores and concentrates, up 46.92% year-on-year; 167.52 tons of molybdenum oxides and hydroxides, down 65.14% year-on-year; 426.50 tons of ammonium molybdate, up 269.40% year-on-year; 297.42 tons of other molybdates, up 34.98% year-on-year; 1,234.26 tons of ferromolybdenum, up 14.26% year-on-year; 0.68 tons of molybdenum powder, down 1.45% year-on-year; 2.46 tons of molybdenum wire, down 3.87% year-on-year; and 4.04 tons of other molybdenum products, up 29.48% year-on-year.
For January-February 2025, China’s cumulative molybdenum product exports totaled 6,511.45 tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.74%. The cumulative export value was 1.365 billion yuan, down 5.74% year-on-year.
Among them, from January to February, China exported 2,302.78 tons of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, up 17.25% year-on-year; 2,674.07 tons of molybdenum oxides and hydroxides, down 64.35% year-on-year; 53.16 tons of ammonium molybdate, down 41.93% year-on-year; 1,234.80 tons of ferromolybdenum, up 4.65% year-on-year; 6.61 tons of molybdenum powder, down 74.59% year-on-year; 38.35 tons of molybdenum wire, down 10.89% year-on-year; 321.70 tons of molybdenum waste and scrap, down 15.22% year-on-year; and 32.10 tons of other molybdenum products, up 13.90% year-on-year.
In February 2025, China’s molybdenum product imports amounted to 6,507.13 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 10.48% and a year-on-year increase of 39.69%. The import value was 898 million yuan, down 13.50% month-on-month but up 50.89% year-on-year.
Among them, in February, China imported 540.00 tons of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, up 50.00% year-on-year; 80.89 tons of molybdenum oxides and hydroxides, down 32.69% year-on-year; 276.00 tons of ammonium molybdate, up 1076.83% year-on-year; 228.00 tons of ferromolybdenum, down 24.00% year-on-year; 1.28 tons of molybdenum wire, up 5.79% year-on-year; and 1.66 tons of other molybdenum products, down 13.23% year-on-year.
In February 2025, China’s molybdenum product exports amounted to 2,979.07 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 15.66% and a year-on-year increase of 7.68%. The export value was 607 million yuan, down 19.97% month-on-month and 2.20% year-on-year.
Among them, in February, China exported 1,230.21 tons of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, up 111.51% year-on-year; 30.60 tons of ammonium molybdate, up 5.83% year-on-year; 260.00 tons of ferromolybdenum, down 59.78% year-on-year; 16.61 tons of molybdenum wire, up 3.46% year-on-year; and 16.83 tons of other molybdenum products, up 35.82% year-on-year.
