A: On February 4th, MOFCOM, in conjunction with the General Administration of Customs, issued an announcement on export controls for tungsten and related items, implementing export controls on 25 types of rare metal products and their technologies, including ammonium paratungstate. The aforementioned policies officially took effect from the date of issuance. Prior to this, we had already notified relevant countries and regions.
Implementing export controls on tungsten and related items is a common international practice. As a major global producer and exporter of tungsten and related items, China has long been committed to fulfilling international obligations such as non-proliferation. In accordance with the need to safeguard national security and interests, China has imposed export controls on specific related items in accordance with the law. The addition of these related items reflects the regulatory concept of balancing development and security, which is conducive to better safeguarding national security and interests, fulfilling international obligations such as non-proliferation, and ensuring the safety and stability of global industrial and supply chains. Exports that comply with relevant regulations will be authorized.
