99.9% blue tungsten oxide has a wide application. There are some main applications as follows.
1. Applied to produce tungsten powder. Blue tungsten oxide is gradually replacing tungstic acid and yellow tungsten oxide for the production of tungsten powder and the manufacturing of downstream products of tungsten such as tungsten wire, tungsten rod, tungsten carbide, and so on. This is because the grain size and grain composition of blue tungsten oxide are easier to be controlled. And therefore it is favorable to dope other elements.
2. Used as a colorant for ceramics. Although inorganic oxides are the main colorants used in ceramic decoration, blue tungsten oxide is rich in blue to be used for coloring ceramic.
3. For the preparation of tungsten disulfide (WS2), and therefore applied in the field of lubricants. WS2 is a new type of solid lubricant.
4. A wide application in smart windows, light sensors and gas sensors. That is because blue tungsten oxide is a transition metal tungsten oxide semiconductor material, which has particular physical and chemical properties, especially electrochromism, gasochromism and photochromism.
